Ergonomics IV Product Description and Idea Trigger

(I)The product is green color With 2 big circle and 1 grip type oval thing in the middle. There are 4 wholes in it. There are teeth in all the inner circles to grip the cap of the thing which's cap is supposed to be opened. It is made of a rubbery substances and is is rather flexible and masculine

(II)Is it easy to use? Is the color appealing? Does it work properly? Is it safe? Is it long-lasting? Does it make opening a bottle tougher that it already it is?

(III) Yes the elderly would face a lot of difficulty as using this takes a lot of effort and it is very hard to press as in hold the bottle with the product in place. Even though i think it is made for actually helping the elderly itself to open bottles since it might be hard for them but i guess it didnt fit its purpose.

(IV) I think it can be made longer making it easier to use also it could be made of a softer material so its more user friendly

Ergonomics II

1}Ergonomics is the science of designing the job, equipment & workplace to suit the worker while taking care of other things like the job, the budget and the time the worker spends in his workplace. Not only this it also uses biology to think about the environment the worker need for bringing out his highest potential for e.g the color of the walls might affect the workers' mood and also his work.

2/3} The 5 aspects of ergonomics are
  • Safety{For example the size of the font on medicine bottles must be enlarged for maximum readability.}
  • Comfort{For example the chair cushion or the height of the table could affect the worker by causing him discomfort}
  • Ease of use{For example if the chair wheels are very rusty the worker will not be able to move and not access different sources easily}
  • Productivity/Performance{For example as seen in the video if there is no way the worker can use his laptop easily his work productivity will de-prove}
  • Aesthetics{For example if the signs in the workplace all have different fonts and sizes the worker might find it hard to comprehend and have problem with his work}

Week 4 The elderly Challenge

Many a times the signs at differnt places are very small. Therefore the elderly are not able to read them and get the message for example, if there is a sign saying DANGER AHEAD!! they might not understand and go on and even die!* this is the worst possible case*

Week 3 The elderly Challenge

They are prone to falling so their sole should be non-slip type so they do not injure themselves even in the rain.

Week 2 The elderly Challenge

The elderly often sleep because they have sleepiness

Week 1 The elderly Challenge

Many times Elderly People have difficulties taking public transport as the escalator is moving too fast. Thus they will hesitate to go on it, not all places have lifts.
